Tromboelastografía: una revisión y sus aplicaciones en la práctica médica

Resumen


La tromboelastografía es un análisis de gran importancia que debe ser incorporado en la práctica médica. En este artículo se presentan los principios de la viscoelastografía rotacional, la interpretación de los datos para diagnóstico y manejo clínico de los pacientes. La tromboelastografía es capaz de dar más información que los exámenes de rutina basados en plasma, mostrando un estado completo de la hemostasis en el manejo de pacientes con sangrado coagulopático, y permite agilizar la administración del hemocomponente adecuado en el momento preciso, por lo que esta tecnología se ha convertido en una herramienta esencial como guía para el manejo de coagulopatía asociada a trauma, hemorragia obstétrica y sangrado quirúrgico.

Abstract


This article describes the basis of thromboelastography. It is an important assay to incorporate into medical practice. It describes the physical principles of the viscoelastic test, the interpretation for diagnosis, and clinical management. Thromboelastography provides more information than a conventional statics plasma-based test, offering a complete picture of hemostasis in the management of patients with coagulopathic bleeding, and it facilitates the administration of the right blood product at the right time. Therefore, this technology has become an essential tool and guide for the management of coagulopathy associated to trauma, obstetric hemorrhage and surgical bleeding.
