Informe de caso: absceso hepático amebiano. Diagnóstico hecho mediante biopsia con aguja gruesa

Resumen
El absceso hepático amebiano (AHA) es la manifestación extraintestinal más frecuente de de amebiasis. Es causado por el patógeno intestinal Entamoeba histolytica. El AHA es de 3 a 10 veces más frecuente en hombres que en mujeres.
Se presenta un caso de un paciente masculino de 48 años de edad con historia de dolor abdominal y absceso amebiano hepático diagnosticado por biopsia.

An amebic liver abscess (ALA) is the most frequent extraintestinal manifestation of amaebiasis. It is caused by the intestinal pathogen Entamoeba histolytica. ALA occurs 3–10 times more often in men than in women.
We present a case of a 48-year-old male patient with abdominal pain and amebic liver abscess diagnosed by biopsy.
